Some clock in your house will probably be wrong on Monday morning. Daylight saving time ends this Sunday, November 1, at 2 a.m., when clocks go back to 1 a.m. The time change 2026 brings is easy to forget until an alarm goes off early.
Which gadgets fix themselves, and which stay an hour off? We checked the support pages and manuals to find out.
The Clocks That Change Themselves

Your phone is the easy one. The daylight-saving rule is built into its time zone, so it moves back by itself.
On an iPhone, check that Settings > General > Date & Time > Set Time Automatically is on. If you set the time yourself, glance at the clock Sunday morning.
On a Galaxy, the switch is Automatic date and time, in Settings > General management > Date and time. Even on manual time, a Galaxy changes on the right date if its time zone uses daylight saving.
On a Pixel, open the Clock app, then More > Settings > Change date and time. Turn on Automatic date and time.
Radio “atomic” clocks fix themselves too. In Arizona, turn their daylight-saving setting off, since most of the state doesn’t change.
The Clocks You’ll Have to Fix by Hand

Unlike your phone, a Windows PC can stay an hour off. Open Settings > Time & language > Date & time. If Set time zone automatically is on, you’re done. If you pick the time zone yourself, Windows has a separate switch, Adjust for daylight saving time automatically. If it’s off, the PC leaves the hour to you, so turn it on.
A Garmin watch fixes itself when it syncs. If a Garmin is your running watch, sync it on Sunday.
On a Canon camera, daylight saving is its own setting, under Date/Time/Zone. Turn it off, or your photos get stamped an hour ahead.
Some cars set the clock automatically. Others have a daylight-saving box in the clock menu to untick in the fall. Older ones need the buttons.
Set the microwave, oven and wall clock back on Saturday night.
Did an old “auto-set” clock fall back on October 25? Then it’s still on the pre-2007 rule. Set it by hand.
Permanent daylight time could end this chore someday, but not by Sunday. The House passed the Sunshine Protection Act 308 to 117 on July 14, 2026. The Senate hasn’t voted, so it isn’t law, and Sunday’s time change still happens. We think five minutes on Saturday night beats a confused Monday.
